Bubbling, boisterous, King Fergus offers audiences a roaring laugh. He’s a story teller, embellishing and stretching the truth left and right. King Fergus has a very close relationship with his daughter, Merida, and loves his family unconditionally. He gets carried away, loves to fight, and is a push over when it comes to raising his children with his wife, Elinor. All of these characteristics, however, are what bring humor to the film. Like Heimlich, he is the comedic relief. His imitations of Merida cause side-stitches, and his obsession with the bear is something most people could probably see in their own father-figures. With King Fergus, Pixar created a round character who truly epitomizes what it means to be a good man.
